Scooby Doo Halloween Costumes

Creating Velma Dinkley

Top, Skirt, Socks, and Glasses: Spirit Halloween Velma Set

.

I had already ordered an orange sweatshirt, socks,

and red skirt from Amazon before I came across the

Velma set from Spirit Halloween, so I returned it all!

The set was just too good to pass up, and it’s

surprisingly difficult to find matching shades of orange.

Although the fabrics seemed slightly cheap and

easily wrinkled, I was still very happy with the overall

look and am glad I could find so many

pieces of the costume together.

.

Shoes: eBay

.

Set on sticking to the classic Velma Mary Janes,

I found these lovely patent leather shoes on eBay.

The price was a little more than I had hoped for

(especially since I knew I would only wear them once or twice),

but the shipping was included in the price and they

arrived in a beautiful package. Though perfect for the look,

I don’t recommend these shoes for comfort. By

the end of the day, I was more than excited to take them off.

.

Wig: Amazon

.

This surprisingly realistic wig is the Reecho brand

11” bob wig from Amazon. I was especially a fan of

this wig because I could wear it as-is. The quality is

top-notch for the price, down to the faux scalp seen

down the middle. It was also the most comfortable

wig I’ve ever worn and stayed in place all day.

.

Creating Daphne Blake

Dress - Spirit Halloween

.

I was going to try and make this dress myself, but

when I saw this dress at Spirit Halloween I had to

get it. Besides...I have zero sewing skills so trying to

make this dress myself would have been a

frustrating trainwreck. The costume also came

with the green ascot and lilac headband. Overall

I think that the costume is really good quality with

a good fit and thankfully was very comfortable to wear.

.

Pink Leggings - Amazon

.

A quick search on Amazon brought me to these

semi opaque light pink leggings by Frola. I highly

recommend these leggings for whatever you need

as they are extremely comfortable

to wear and pretty decent quality.

.

Purple Boots - LikingCosplay

.

I was initially going to make my own Daphne

shoes out of heels from Goodwill and lilac paint.

However, when I found these boots online I thought

they were too perfect to pass up! (A couple things to

keep in mind with these boots is to be sure to order

your normal shoe size regardless of what size the

measurements on their website suggest and also

be sure to order them early if you want them in time

for Halloween! I chose express shipping at checkout

and it still took about 3 weeks for them to arrive.)

.

Orange Wig - Amazon

.

My wig was made by Morvally and actually came

as a 23" wavy wig with side swept bangs. I then

attempted my hand at being a hairstylist and cut the

wig myself to try and better fit Daphne's signature

hairstyle. While the cut is not perfect (I am still

finding sections of hair of all different lengths) it

still does a decent job of helping complete the look.

Makeup:

In addition to her great fashion sense Daphne is

also known for her full face of glamorous makeup

featuring a nice soft pink lip paired with a standout

cat eye. The rest of Daphne's makeup appears

fairly simple and uniform (although it is slightly

difficult to tell from a cartoon), so for the rest of my

face I stuck with my everyday makeup routine to

create the final look. You will find

the products I used listed below!
