Kitchen Chaos Adventures - July 2026
The bakery spent more time open this month, but I’m certainly not complaining. Overall successful chaos was had here in the kitchen!

Creamy Steak Pasta - Mex (@mex_cooks on Instagram and @mexcooks on tiktok)
This dish not only looks amazing, but tastes pretty freaking amazing as well. Especially if you can cook the steak right, which I still cannot, but I am getting better with each try. lol I loved the flavor of the sauce on the pasta (forever a sucker for a more orange pasta sauce). HOWEVER, if I make this dish again I definitely will be adjusting the recipe to remove the heavy cream. This recipe calls for what I think is an insane amount of heavy cream and well…..let’s just say my stomach was less than impressed by that. lol Other than that though I do think this dish was pretty solid and wasn’t too difficult to make either which is always a plus in my kitchen.

No Bake S’mores Pudding Pie - Cooking in the Midwest (@cookinginthemidwest)
The SECOND I saw this pie come across my Instagram feed I sent it to the boys, Blake and Brandon, and told them this was going to be the next treat I was bringing in to work. And let me tell you no one complained! This pie was absolutely delicious! I really enjoyed the pudding filling, the chocolate chunks, marshmallows, and graham cracker crumbs on top added a lovely dimension to the pie and really helped bring it all together to give it the s’mores flavor. I did have a tiny bit of an issue with the whipped topping melting a smidge even though it lived in the fridge overnight, but otherwise definitely would eat and make again!

Black Widow Peanut Butter Bars - Half Baked Harvest (@halfbakedharvest on Instagram)
When 100 days until Halloween comes about you HAVE to celebrate with a spooky treat! These black widow peanut butter bars from Half Baked Harvest were definitely phenomenal. The peanut butter base was good, but when combined with the chocolate and marshmallow icing (and of course the spooky spiders) it really elevates to a deliciously spook-tastic treat. My only small complaint is that these do require quite a bit of work, especially when it comes to making the spiders, but I think the payout is worth it.

Corndog Sushi
In honor of a summerween readathon I was partaking in I decided to read the book Jaws and have a little bit of Jaws themed day giving me the perfect excuse to FINALLY buy this shark sushi plate. However, I don’t like sushi so I went with the better option of corn dogs cut to look like little sushi rolls. I even went so far as to use chopsticks to eat them. Definitely silly but fun to eat!
