Friday the 13th Slash Bash 2025

This year Friday the 13th fell on June 13th which happens to also be Jason’s (from the Friday the 13th movies) actual birthday! So of course I was not about to let this day go by without some type of bigger celebration! Here is a look at my homage to slasher summer with a slash bash outdoor movie night!

My celebrating started right away with a themed outfit (of course) featuring my Stabbey Road shirt I picked up at Six Flags last October, my black American Eagle skinny jeans, some black cord bracelets from Amazon, and one of my favorite pairs of boots that I also found on Amazon.

Oh and let’s not forget the DIY nail art I did for the occasion! My gel nail kit and tools have become one of my favorite beauty “investments.”

Once I was home from work it was time to start on the official slash bash festivities which of course meant an outfit change! My goal for this was to lean into the camp counselor look of the 80s which I achieved with a white ringer tee, red shorts, and some tall socks! Oh and my tried and true white Walmart sneakers.

For my movie watching set up I broke out my A Black Star jack o lantern pool and filled it with blankets and pillows rather than water and some movie snacks.

Speaking of snacks, the food didn’t stop at just popcorn! In addition to that I also had two classic camp foods, hot dogs and smore’s!

Now, initially I had planned to project the movie onto a projector screen I bought off of Amazon. However, I soon realized the power cord for my projector was missing and I had to pivot the plans to instead watching the movies on one of my extra TVs. I was bound and determined to have an outdoor movie night experience so even though it probably looked pretty ridiculous to my neighbors I had to do what I had to do!
