A trip to Kansas City wouldn’t be complete without some Kansas City barbecue and when I watched the Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives episode featuring the big pig sandwich I KNEW this was the place I needed to stop. This is Pigwich!

This is The Big Pig and the same thing Guy Fieri (and Chiefs head coach Andy Reid) tried in Season 33 Episode 15 of Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives! Well….almost the same. The Big Pig has changed the main ingredients just a little bit shifting from a pulled pork patty, fried pork tenderloin, and sausage, to fried chicken with pulled pork. However, you won’t hear my complaining. This sandwich was still fan-freaking-tastic.

Fried chicken and pulled pork. A combination I never would have thought to have paired on a sandwich, but one I am most definitely happy to have experienced. Every single bit of the big pig left me squealing in delight! The fried chicken was juicy, the pulled pork with the BBQ and ‘Nduja sauces had a wonderful flavor to it, and the bun was an excellent tasting delivery vehicle. Also let’s not forget to mention the fries which were absolutely phenomenal. So follow the yellow brick road (literally) down to Pigwich in Kansas City!
